Vladislav Kern

Vladislav Kern, Russian-American pianist, was born in Moscow into a family of musicians. He started his music studies in 2005 at the Central Music School at the Moscow State P.I.Tchaikovsky Conservatory - Class of Professor V.V. Piasetsky. From 2011 till 2016 he was a student of The Juilliard School of Music, Pre-College Division - Class of Professor, Doctor Y. Kaplinsky. Since September 2016 he is a student of Academia Pianistica Internazionale "Incontri col Maestro" di Imola - Class of Professor B. Petrushansky. Vladislav received a scholarship from the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation in 2007 and from The Juilliard School of Music in 2011. In 2012, he got the prestigious Van Cliburn scholarship, first time in the history of The Juilliard School, Pre-College Division. In 2016 Vladislav became a Young Steinway Artist

Paul Recital Hall. Vladislav played his Senior Recital at the Juilliard School, performing J. S. Bach - S. Rachmaninoff Suite from Partita in E Major, F. Liszt Sonata in B minor, V. Bellini - F. Liszt Réminiscences de Norma.

Shared two concerts with his mother Olga Kern in Fort Collins, Colorado as a final concert of The International Keyboard Odyssiad & Festival U.S.A. at CSU and in Bear Valley, California as a part of Bear Valley Music Festival.

Lincoln Center, NYC. Solo Concert at the Juilliard School, Paul Recital Hall. Performing works by Bach-Busoni, Liszt. 

May 14 


Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufmann Music Center - In one evening Vladislav performed solo (Franz Liszt - "Après une Lecture de Dante from Années de pèlerinage: Deuxième année: Italie, Fantasia quasi Sonata"; "Les jeux d'eaux à la Villa d'Este from Années de pèlerinage: Troisième année: Italie") and accompanied cello (Tchaikovsky) and saxophone (Mozart and Demersseman)

Vladislav played chamber concerts at the Juilliard School - Peter Jay Sharp Theatre and Morse Hall (Program: Ludwig van Beethoven - sonata for violin and piano No. 7, Op.30 No.2 / Sergei Prokofiev - sonata for violin and piano No. 2, Op.94bis)

Vladislav won the first price at the Tureck International Bach Competition in New York. 11.18.2015

Paul Recital Hall; Willson Theater; Morse Hall, The Juilliard School at Lincoln Center, NYC. Chamber concert. Performing Grieg sonata for violin and piano No. 3 in C minor opus 45 and Beethoven sonata for violin and piano No. 9 in A minor opus 47 (Kreutzer Sonata) 


May 18 

Triumph-debut with W.A.Mozart Concerto No. 9 Jenamy (Jeunehomme) in E-flat major, K. 271 at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center with Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra under baton of Maestro Vladimir Spivakov - this concert was dedicated to the celebration of 35's anniversary of Moscow Virtuosi. 
May 10 

Classical Improvisation Concert. 
Vladislav was nominated for participating in the accounting classical piano improvisation concert of the Juilliard School as honorable solo "Improvisation on the given theme" and as a soloist in one of the five "character pieces" and also participating in four "character pieces". 



November 11 


Solo Concert at Steinway Hall, New York, NY. Performing works by Beethoven, Schubert - Czerny, Liszt.
